Coach Mark started his CrossFit journey in 2008 while he was serving as an active duty member of the Maine Army National Guard. At age 48, never having been an athlete, the structure and organization of the CrossFit model helped Mark achieve the best level of physical fitness in decades. An Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) taken right after he started CrossFit was scored at 187 points. The next test, after a year doing CrossFit, his score was 260.
In the fall of 2010 Mark passed his CF-L1 certification and became a CrossFit Trainer. Since then he has been assisting other athletes at CrossFit Camp Keyes along with teaching the program to new inductees.
In 2012 Coach Mark established CrossFit Undaunted in Augusta, Maine giving the entire community the opportunity to experience and achieve the results Mark has gained through CrossFit. Mark retired from the military in 2014 after a 35 year career serving his country. Now he serves the CrossFit community bringing training opportunities to all who would desire to improve their life through fitness.
Mark competed in the first CrossFit Open in 2011, and competed for many years in the Master’s division. Mark has attained training and certification in a variety of CrossFit Certifications including CrossFit Level 2 trainer, Olympic Weightlifting, Coaches Prep Course, Mobility Trainers Course, Kettlebell Trainers Course, Gymnastics Trainers Course.
